Kamp;F Concept circular polarizer made of Japan optical glass, deepens the intensity of blue skies; reduces or eliminates glare.
Multi-coating reduces reflection, reduce glare and improve saturation.
Aluminum alloy frame, Ultra slim rim profile to avoid vignetting on wide angle lenses.
CPL filters are good for skies, waters, foliage. They can dramatically enhance these natural elements, giving images better appearance.
Rotating a CPL filter on your lens can make dramatic changes to a simple image.
Kamp;F Concept Polarizers Filter
Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. Think of it as sunglasses for your camera.
Area of sky most effectively polarized with a Circular Polarizer: Point your index finger at the sun. With your thumb extended at a right angle (90°), rotate it around the axis of the index finger. It will point out the band of deepest blue from horizon to horizon.
The Kamp;F Polarizers Filter Multi Resistance Coating (MRC) helping repel water, dust amp; grease, while also preventing ghosting.
Ultra thin filter frames to help avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses are also designed to hold a lens cap.
These filters are equipped with a straight knurling edge for non-slip, easy attachment and removal.
I tried saving some money and it backfired. This CPL softens the image significantly. Although you can just punch up the sharpness in post, it just adds an extra step to the process and I simply rather have as much in camera as possible. Didn't lose out on much money but I am biting the bullet and just buying a $80+ CPL as soft images, in my book, are completely unacceptable unless it is done intentionally.
This is the worst threaded filter I have ever had! I bought this because the reviews were good and it was cheap. I put it on my Canon RF 24-105 to test it today. Tightened to hand tight as I always to with filters. Then it kept slipping. Turned the polarizer to get the angle of light I wanted and tested. It felt like it kept trying to tighten and loosen while turning the polarizer to the right angle and did not move freely. Polarizer worked OK. Then I tried to take it off. It was stuck on. Finally, after spending a half hour trying to undo it, it came off. The polarizer does not turn easily either. Upon taking it off, I noticed the thread had a flat spot and that was why it slipped and got stuck on. I spent way to much for a high quality camera to have it compromised by a screw on filter. I will never buy or recommend this company again for their filters or other products if their quality continues like this where it can compromise my camera lenses.
Look at the pictures and it is easily visible to see the reduction in clarity and brightness! Both photos shot seconds apart without any camera adjustments,
Maybe I got a bad one, but I can't give this filter a good review. The first thing I noticed was that the rotating ring was extremely difficult to turn. Figuring that it would loosen up with time, I continued to use it.When I used it on a telephoto lens shooting shore and wading birds, I noticed that every one of my shots were very soft focus - to the point of being unusable. Wondering if there was something wrong with my lens, I put it on a tripod and shot a series of images of a printed page with and without the filter and at different rotational positions of the filter. What I saw was very disappointing. While the lens, as with most lenses, was a little soft at maximum and minimum aperture, it was very sharp at the middle apertures. On the other hand sharpness was absolutely horrible at all apertures with the filter on. And it was worse in some rotational positions than others.I sent the manufacturer an email asking if I could have received a defective filter, but they have not responded. Since doing this exercise, I have purchased another circular polarizing filter from another manufacturer and repeated the exercise. I was pleased to see that the other manufacturer's filter did not adversely affect the sharpness of the lens at aperture or focal length. This Kamp;F filter is destined for the scrap bin.
I am not a pro, I like photography and I am doing it as a hobby. Didn’t want to spend $100 for a expensive filter. Went with Kamp;F for the price. High quality materials. Very slim . I was impressed. Got it in 82mm for tamron 24-70 g2. After getting this filter looked at Kamp;F products and got few more things.
Make pictures blurry, dark and decided to go with cheaper alternative (AmazonBasics Circular Polarizer) and it is better and works great! this one sadly did not work as I expected, the polarization works but the main image is not the desired quality , I even set the sharpness up in my camera but did not helped , very much out of focus and color overcast . It worked weird in light controlled environment, it removed glare from one object but not other so can't use it for my photography , I tried to love it but nope..I purchased this CPL because the price sounded good and it boasted multi-coating. Yesterday I used it outside, on a day with bright blue skies and white clouds and the results were "meh", just okay. I took similar pictures with and without it and the difference was notable, but not what I've gotten in the past from HOYA MC polarizers. I didn't get to test it on water, (will do that today), perhaps I'll get better results. In addition, taking it off the camera was difficult and I couldn't find the "filter removal tool" I used to have so I had to be careful not to damage the lens or filter in getting it off. Brass is a better metal for filters as it binds less than aluminum. I'll see how it goes today, but frankly for the $15-20 I saved over a top CPL the results will not satisfy me long. Unfortunately, I threw the box out so I can't return it to Amazon for a refund. Some folks seem quite pleased with the performance, but I'm not, so I'll likely use it for a while and then spring more money for a better CPL.Finely machined. Nice to handle. just the right amout of friction turning the knurled ring. Good gradient on the polarizer, very distinct. Some loss of light but images are crisp. Good price for a nice, clean piece of glass. Very low profile. Fits my retractable lens camera with no interference. ( Panasonic DMC FZ 28 ).
